About the Tutor - Glen Tillyard
My name is Glen Tillyard and I'm an NCTJ qualified award winning professional press photographer and trainer with over 30 years experience.
I now specialise in running photography courses helping novice photographers to get the very best from their digital camera by taking them off the full auto setting and showing them how to take exciting, creative photographs in just one day.
This is achieved using the Universal Zoom System which will improve your photography in five simple steps. Digital SLR Photography Private Tuition
Most of our one day photography courses have six students using a variety of Digital SLRs. As we need to cater for a range of cameras these courses need to be more generic. Private one to one photography tuition is just you, me and your camera. These courses are specially tailored to your personal requirements and specific camera. DSLR Photography Plus Photoshop Tuition
The DSLR Photography plus Photoshop Tuition course follows the same basic structure as the normal one day 121 photography course but the practical photography exercise time is reduced to allow for a 2-3 hour Photoshop session. These session are flexible but normally include basic image adjustments using Levels and Curves, Image Size, Resolution & Quality & Cropping for the web & print. More Info >
Portrait & Low Light Photography
This very popular portrait photography and low light combined course features a portrait photography session in the afternoon followed by the night-time photography session in the evening. We will show you how to take great portraits by available light, flash and candle light before moving onto the low light and night time photography course after dark. Your own tripod would be helpful for both session but we do have a couple of spares. A light supper is provided.
DSLR Photography - Using RAW & HDR
The Digital SLR Photography plus RAW & HDR course concentrates on landscape photography using the RAW file format & Higher Dynamic Range (HDR) techniques. These intensive photography & Photoshop courses are aimed at capturing the wide range of highlights and shadows not normally available in a normally exposed JPG image. Digital SLR Product Photography Course
Save time & money with one of our Product Photography Courses. There is no substitute for employing a professional photographer and this would be our first recommendation. We do understand that on many occasions it is not always practical or cost effective to employ a professional just for a quick portrait or product shot. Pictures for Publication Photography Course
The Pictures for Publication Photography Course is aimed at individuals and organisations who would like take portraits, groups, or news pictures suitable for inclusion in magazines, newspapers, newsletters, online resources, intranet's or radio websites. This course will not turn you into a press photographer overnight but it should give you the confidence and skills required to produce photographs which will look good in your chosen publication. You will be shown how to avoid the "firing squad" type of picture that often finds it's way into newsletters or local publications.
Photoshop Private Tuition
One of the most widespread comments we get from students is that the pictures they take don't look like those they visualise. Sadly this is often due to the limitations of the camera. Our Photoshop courses help you to realise your photographs full potential by adjusting the colour, contrast and composition in Photoshop to present a more realistic image.
